It’s the end of an era as GambleAware prepares to close its doors for the last time today. The organisation has been a staple of the British gambling landscape for two decades, first launching in 2002 and undergoing several changes as it found its purpose in the industry. Since then, GambleAware has been the driving force behind responsible gambling initiatives, including research studies and marketing campaigns to reduce the stigma of discussing gambling-related harm. While the torch has been officially handed to the Gambling Commission to take over stewardship of the funds going forward, many will likely have fond memories and a deep level of respect for the work GambleAware achieved during its time.
