Age discrimination in gaming is REAL. Or is this just my feeling? It’s in the job ads asking for a "digital native." Or the "culture fit" feedback that really means "you're too old." If you’re over 40 in this industry, the panic is real. You have 15 years of experience. But suddenly, that’s seen as baggage instead of an asset. In gaming, we talk a lot about DEI. But we often forget a huge part of it: - Diversity includes age. - Equity includes experience. From my seat as a matchmaker, I see the cost: A room full of 25-year-olds isn't "innovative." It’s just missing perspective. We’re ghosting the people who actually know how to ship a game. Experience isn't a red flag. It’s the baseline for success. We need to stop treating age like a liability. A graduation date that predates Steam shouldn't be a dealbreaker. Have you felt the "age ceiling" in gamedev? Or do you think experience is finally getting the respect it deserves? #GameDev #GamingIndustry #Ageism #DEI #Recruitment #TalentStrategy
