From Game Presenter to Pitboss: Karina’s Journey Karina began her journey in the industry in 2015, right after finishing school. Interestingly, it was her mother who encouraged her to take the first step, saying: “Go there — all the girls sit there looking beautiful in dresses.” She started as a Game Presenter and spent several years growing in the role, gaining valuable experience and connecting with people from all over the world. Although players often encouraged her to try a Host position, Karina took her time to reflect on her path—and eventually set a clear goal for herself: to become a Pitboss. After seven years as a Game Presenter at her previous company, Karina joined Wifinity Live. Just four months later, as soon as her probation period ended and a Pitboss position opened up, she didn’t hesitate—she applied immediately. “I was extremely nervous,” she recalls. “During my shadow day before the interview, I asked a lot of questions—and that actually helped me a lot later during the interview itself.” The interview process turned out to be smoother than expected, and Karina’s preparation and curiosity played a key role in her success. Throughout her career, Karina has always been a fast learner with a strong attention to detail. Even before her promotion, she would observe the Pitboss role closely, analyzing situations and thinking about how she would act in similar circumstances. This mindset made her transition into the new position feel natural. For Karina, becoming a Pitboss was a meaningful choice. She understood that one of the most stressful moments for a Game Presenter or Shuffler is making a mistake—and the Pitboss is the one who steps in to support, resolve, and improve these situations. “From the outside, it may seem challenging,” Karina says, “but the key is not to rush, not to be afraid of asking questions, and to trust your intuition.” Today, what she enjoys most is supporting her team during stressful moments. She approaches every situation individually and always tries to encourage her colleagues with kind and supportive words. Her dedication and impact have not gone unnoticed—Karina has been recognized as Pitboss of the Year twice, highlighting her professionalism, leadership, and commitment to her team. For those considering entering the industry, Karina shares: “Don’t be afraid to try. This industry helped me believe in myself, build confidence, and meet incredible people. Most importantly, it constantly challenges me and shows that what once felt scary and unfamiliar is actually achievable.” And for those thinking about taking the next step: “It’s always worth trying something new and stepping out of your comfort zone.
